Committees

Our committees are the backbone of our organization, and responsible for originating and updating our policies and activities throughout our membership. Being Involved establishes your concern for the future of your profession and your REALTOR community. It’s a way to be better informed and more prepared to deal with market demands and changes.

BYLAWS COMMITTEE

Chair: Chris Kelly - EMAIL

Ensures that the Association’s Bylaws, the Board’s governing document, remains up to date with mandates from the National Association of REALTORS® and relevant local issues. This committee supports compliance that is essential to maintaining our charter and continuing to adhere to organizational rules. The committee reviews and updates policies when new structures or functions emerge within the Association.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Chair: Lorna Sirois –EMAIL

Responsible for evaluating and enhancing LRBR’s communication channels; including our website, newsletter, media outreach, and other methods to ensure effective and timely interactions with members and the public. The committee will advise leadership and suggest improvements to maintain our relevance and responsiveness in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Chair: Michele Daniels –EMAIL

Dedicated to fostering growth among our members, this committee plays a vital role in securing sponsors to offset costs, planning, promoting and implementing educational programs to ensure our success in the real estate profession. Key responsibilities include planning meetings, coordinating speakers, securing venues, continuing education courses, New Member Orientation, plus Code of Ethics and Fair Housing activities that meet NAR requirements. Collaboration with our Affiliate Members is a core part of the committee’s work.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY COMMITTEE

Chair: Woody Miller – EMAIL

Equal opportunity in housing is an extremely significant part of our professional responsibility as REALTORS. This group is tasked with developing and coordinating programs to make members aware of State and Federal Fair Housing Laws.

FINANCE/BUILDING COMMITTEE

Chair: Liz Swenson – EMAIL

This committee prepares the Board's annual budget for submission to the Board of Directors and periodically reviews the Board's financial condition and suggests adjustments, along with reviewing and negotiating office and building needs.

GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE

Chair: Woody Miller -EMAIL

The Grievance Committee examines complaints referred to the Board and determines if they should be continued for Ethics or Arbitration hearings. When a complaint is received, you provide a preliminary review and screening. The Committee does NOT conduct hearings and does NOT make determinations of Code violations or arbitration decisions. Members must attend workshops/seminars as required.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Chair: Donna Ward – EMAIL

This group oversees the presentation of all awards. It prepares a slate of candidates for the officers of the Board of Directors. They recommend candidates for the annual Honor Society awards, Good Neighbor Award, and screen credentials of nominees for the REALTOR® of the Year award.

LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE

Chair: Terry Small – EMAIL

Collaborates closely with the RPAC Committee monitoring legislation that may impact REALTORS® and property rights. They distribute information about legislative issues, including "Calls for Action”, to all members. The committee educates and consults with the members on these topics through surveys, emails and social media.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Chair: Michelle Daniels - EMAIL

The Professional Standards committee conducts ethics hearings as necessary subject to NAR/NHAR policy and procedures, and promotes the elevation of standards among members. Members must attend workshops/seminars as required.

MEDIATION OFFICER

This trained mediator facilitates voluntary dispute resolution for arbitrable matters, thereby eliminating the need for a formal hearing. Through effective mediation, we aim to foster cooperation and resolve conflicts in a constructive, timely manner. ** Must have attended mediation training with NHAR or NAR within the past two years.

PUBLIC RELATIONS / REALTOR COMMUNITY SERVICE

This two-fold group develops and implements public relations programs to enhance the image of our organization through events and acknowledges the accomplishments of our members. Also responsible for sponsoring and organizing activities that help our local communities.

REALTOR POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE (RPAC)/ISSUES MOBILIZATION

Chair: Chris Kelly – EMAIL

Responsible for monitoring local, state, and national legislation that impacts REALTORS® and private property rights in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. It actively distributes information to members to promote awareness and advocacy, including "Calls for Action” through emails, surveys, and social media. A key function of this committee is to support RPAC fundraising efforts, ensuring that LRBR meets its fundraising goals set by the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS®. It recommends real estate-related issues to the Board of Directors to take a stand on.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

Chair: Doug Rollins – EMAIL

This committee works with the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation and organizes our annual golf tournament while reviewing our Board scholarship awards to deserving high school seniors. Also recommends changes to serve members and community needs more efficiently.

PRIMEMLS DIRECTOR and ALTERNATE

Chair: Lisa Hurley –EMAIL

Responsible for representing the Lakes Region Board of REALTORS® membership. This role requires a thorough understanding of the MLS system and adherence to PrimeMLS Bylaws. The Director is expected to attend PrimeMLS Board of Directors meetings and report relevant updates back to the Lakes Region Board of Directors and staff.

AFFILIATE COMMITTEE

Chair: Eric Petell –EMAIL

Fosters collaboration and support between REALTORS®️ and Affiliate members who provide essential services to the real estate industry. This committee serves as a platform for mortgage lenders, home inspectors, title companies, and other service providers—to engage directly with REALTORS®️, strengthen relationships and enhance the professional network. Through organizing events, education, and community outreach, the committee ensures that affiliates have opportunities to showcase their expertise and contribute to the success of REALTORS® and their clients.
